The Story of Bloom
Our story
What started with a few simple ingredients from our family pantry, has turned into a passion I didn’t know I had. After leaving the work force in December 2022, I started making bread for my family. I enjoyed the process; it was calming and therapeutic. I began sharing my bread with my extended family, who then shared it with others.
Before I knew it, I began receiving requests for other baked goods and confections - and I just never said no! If I had never made it before, I researched it, compared recipes, and made it happen. It started with cupcakes, cake pops, and cinnamon rolls - and blossomed into custom cakes, French macarons, and other confections. By March of 2023, I put a name to it. Since our last name is Flowers, and my favorite part of baking bread is watching the yeast bloom, it only made sense that ‘Bloom” had to be in the name.
We took steps to become a licensed cottage bakery through the state of Kentucky, as well as registered as an LLC in May of 2023. We are proud members of the Better Business Bureau, we support our community by volunteering with and donating to many local non-profit organizations such as Rotary International, and we are proud to say we are “Sugar Angels” with Icing Smiles. As we look to the future, we plan to join our local Chamber of Commerce, as well as open a storefront bakery in our hometown of Elizabethtown, KY.
